AMC MCQ Exam Bridging Course

Passing both parts of the AMC exams is an unavoidable hurdle for all IMGs wanting to obtain General Registration through Standard Pathway.

AMC exams are well known for the level of difficulty and the failure rate is often high. AMC MCQ Exam is no exception. The key specialties covered by AMC MCQ Exams are Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and one miscellaneous section. It is essential to understand that all multiple-choice questions must be answered for all specialties in order for the computer to determine a pass or fail for you. You as a candidate must prepare for all specialties. To make matters more challenging the many answers you need to choose from in the same question often seem right at the same time. Therefore how best to apply clinical logic to select the best answers from a pool of confusing answers, and what are the efficient ways to acquire the clinical knowledge to do so becomes important in the limited time you have to study for the MCQ exam.

It can be overwhelming looking at the wide range of specialties you need to study for in order to pass the MCQ exam. Candidates often try to compensate by studying from complex textbooks for each specialty. Alternatively, large volume textbooks like General Practice by John Murtagh are often considered essential to study from. Is this really an efficient way to study? Common questions you need to ask are: "What do I use to study? In what depth do I study them? What type of questions tends to be more important? What is the expected level of knowledge required to pass the exam? What is the direction I would take right from the start? How do I make my studying efficient? We are here to guide you through your study journey through our AMC MCQ exam course.

From the Outset - Exam Strategies, Techniques and our Recommended Books

Our AMC MCQ exam course is taught through a combination of online material and online teaching through Videoconferencing. The course will start with an introduction to AMC MCQ exam - specialties assessed, type of questions, textbooks to use, assessment format, assessment environment etc. We teach you exactly what you need to know from the outset. We want you to focus on studying from the recommended books with highly organised and efficient method. We don’t want you to waste time moving from one book to another only to discover they are not suitable. As part of our method, we will recommend books designed for undergraduate medical licensing exams like AMC. We will guide you on how to use it, which one to start, which ones to use next, how to study them individually and with each other to give you the optimal chance to passing the exam.

Coaching Model and Road Mapping

Our MCQ course is based our Coaching Model. We create an individualised road map for you based on your personal clinical competency and we guide you and coach you along this journey. Unlike many other MCQ courses they teach you the clinical conditions from textbooks, we believe we should rather spend the time teaching you and guiding you on what books to study from, what are the efficient ways to study them, how that differs between some of the specialties, how you should be making your own notes, how to do that efficiently. We will set goals and targets on regular basis and we will monitor you along the way through our teaching and coaching sessions. We utilise clinical questions, constructive feedback based on assessment of your answers, examine the progress and structure of your study methods and notes as you work through each of our recommended books. You are expected to do most of the studying your own from our recommended books and with our methods as you progress along the road map under our guidance.

Unlike other MCQ course where they focus on teaching you clinical conditions which you can easily study on your own from textbooks. We will give you the tools and methods and guide along the way. If you are not moving in the right direction, or not making adequate progress we will inform you and work with you to improve or correct the direction you are on. We believe this is optimal way to prepare and study for MCQ exam.
